Hip dance-club atmosphere in a mainstream location.
The
Scene
Inside the industrial setting of a former
Whitney Bank in the CBD, Ampersand is a stylish
club with an artsy European-South Beach feel,
featuring two levels of dancing, two bars
and several cozy sitting rooms, one of which
used to be the bank's vault. Assisted by
famed Southern architect and
"Real World: New Orleans" interior
designer Lee Ledbetter and New York sound
and lighting designer Dre, owner Billy Blatty
has created an atmosphere where both locals
and tourists can feel decadently glamorous
while enjoying the most progressive dance
beats in the city.
The
Draw
Targeting the 21-to-35 set, the club draws
a mixed crowd of all races and lifestyles--gay,
straight and everything in between--looking
for progressive nightlife with a mature approach
